TURTLES AND TORTOISES

Turtles and Tortoises are a large group of shelled reptiles. They are found in temperate and tropical regions. Many Turtles spend a lot of their time on land but can swim well. Sea Turtles spend almost their whole lives in the water. Many turtle species can tuck in their head and legs into their carapace, although, some species can’t at all. There is a common misconception that turtles can come out of their shells. The carapace of a turtle is completely fused to the turtle’s spine and cannot be removed.
