Titanoboa cerrejonensis

The Titanoboa is an extinct species of boa. It is the largest snake ever discovered, estimated to grow to a length of 50 Ft (24 M) and weighing 2,500 Lbs (1,135 Kg.)

In 2009, 28 fossil individuals were discovered in a coal mine in Columbia. The snake is thought to have hunted large fish in the jungle, stalking near streams or rivers. The loud rainforest gave the boa an advantage to sneaking up on prey, even though snakes are silent by themselves.
