SPIDERS & SCORPIONS

The family Arachnida is a diverse group of predatory arthropods. All arachnids have eight legs and are venomous. In spiders, venom is injected through fangs, while scorpions strike prey with their tail. Arachnids can move quickly on their long legs. Many spiders rest with their legs in pairs.

Arachnids lay their eggs in large sacs. When they hatch, they normally pile onto the mother's back. Those that fall off are unlikely to survive.
