Updated: Aug 14, 2019

Goliathus The Goliath Beetle is any of five species in the family Goliathus.

  • Goliathus Goliatus

  • Goliathus Albosignatus

  • Goliathus Regius

  • Goliathus Cacicus

  • Goliathus Cacicus

When fully grown, they can weigh more than half a pound (115 g.) They are named after the Philistine champion “Goliath” who fought David in First Samuel. They normally have a black and white patterned shell with large bat-like wings underneath. These insects are very aggressive and will stand up to animals much bigger than themselves.
