The Galapagos Racer is a species of colubrid snake endemic to the Galapagos Islands. They are black with white stripes. They are mildly venomous but hunt by suffocating their prey. They eat small reptiles, bird hatchlings, eggs, fish and rodents. They ambush these from under rocks and in crevices. The racer snake can move up to 10 Mph (6 Kph) when in a chase. They measure about 3 Ft (1 M) long.
