Tapirus indicus

The Malayan or Asian Tapir is the largest species of Tapir in the world and the only one found in Asia. They grow to be about 6 Ft (2 M) long and are found only in a few small spots on islands of the coast of asia. They have extremely poor eyesight and rely on their sense of smell and hearing to help them navigate. They live to be around 30 years old. Although they are shy creatures, Tapirs can inflict fatal injuries by kicking or crushing with their jaws. However Tapirs typically stay away from threats when possible.When born they are a deep brown and are covered with light speckles.
