GOLIATH TIGERFISH

Hydrocynus goliath

The Goliath Tigerfish or Giant Tigerfish is a species of giant, predatory fish found in Africa. They are the largest Tigerfish species, measuring 5 Ft (2.6 M) and weighing over 110 Lbs (50 Kg.) The Tigerfish is a dull green to blue and has a red patch on the lower lobe of the caudal fin. It has round, clear eyes with large pupils. Its teeth are very long and nail-like, which helps the fish latch onto prey. The fins are swept back, being pointed and curved over the front.

The fish is an active hunter and preys on virtually any smaller fish by ambushing them and hunting them down. Attacks on humans are rare, but not unheard of.
