The European Pine Marten is a species of Marten found across Europe. They are a tan-red color and measure to be 21 In (53 Cm) in length. They have excellent senses of sight, smell and hearing. Despite of their small size, they are extremely aggressive hunters and will kill prey nearly twice as big as themselves. Their diet consists of small mammals, carrion, birds, insects, fruit and berries. They are preyed upon by many larger animals, including Eagles, Foxes, Wolves and Wildcats. They can are capable of climbing high into trees using retractable claws, hence their arboreal lifestyle.
