Tetracheilostoma carlae
The Barbados Threadsnake is a species of nonvenomous snake. The Threadsnake is the smallest species of snake on earth, measuring only 2.5 In (5 Cm) long and less than 2 Mm wide. They are believed to live on the Barbados Islands in the Gulf of Mexico.
It is thought that the Threadsnake eats Termites, Ants and their larvae. However, it is unknown how the snake hunts these.
The female only lays one giant egg, about a third of her body length. Hatchlings are about half the length of adults.
IUCN lists the species as Critically Endangered as it is extremely rare and the forests of Barbados are shrinking.
