Babirusas or Deer Pigs are a genus of wild pigs in Sulawesi. They are well known for the male’s four large, canine tusks that protrude out of the animal's mouth and snout. Most Babirusas live for about 20 Years. Babirusas are omnivores and search the ground for nuts, fruit and invertebrates to eat. The Babirusa is endangered from overhunting and deforestation. The Babirusa has been protected since the early 1930s. The Bola Batu babirusa (Babyrousa bolabatuensis) has almost never been seen and little is known about its behaviors or population.
